ELF’s ‘On the Agenda’ on EU Minimum Wages – a discussion with Ceemet expertise

The discussion on whether or not having a Europe coordinated minimum wage hasn’t lost of its allure.

The European Liberal Forum (ELF) dedicates the 15th edition of its ‘On the Agenda’ series on 14 October from 14:00 to 15:00 to the European Commission’s proposal for an Adequate Minimum Wage.

Unanimity on the overall objectives not on the tools

Although all main stakeholders agree that workers across the European Union should have an adequate minimum wage that avoids in work poverty, the opinions on the tools differ.

Ceemet – and other European employers organisations for that purpose – don’t believe the EU is the correct level to set minimum wages for Europe nor is a Directive the right tool.

Ingredients for a lively debate

A discussion with:

  • MEP Monica Semedo, Renew Europe’s shadow Rapporteur for the proposed piece of legislation
  • Esther Lynch, ETUC’s Deputy Secretary General of ETUC
  • Delphine Rudelli, Ceemet’s Director General

brings experts of all the main stakeholders together and guarantees an interesting and lively debate.

Interested? Tune in on 14 October 2021 from 14:00 to 15:00.
