#EUHealthyWorkPlaces campaign

Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances

The European campaign Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances is a 2-year campaign coordinated by the European Agency for Health& Safety (EU-OSHA) at work in 2018 – 2019.

The campaign has the following objectives:

  1. Raise awareness of the importance of managing dangerous substances
  2. Promote risk assessment, elimination and substitution and the hierarchy of prevention measures
  3. Increase awareness of the risks linked to exposure to carcinogens at work
  4. Target workers with specific needs and increased levels of risk (women, migrants and young people)

For the 4th time in a row, Ceemet – European Tech & Industry Employers is commutted to support the EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces campaign and is an official campaign partner. The campaign was launched at a press conference in Brussels on 24 April 2018 by European Commissioner Marianne Thyssen, the Bulgarian EU-Presidency and the EU-OSHA Executive Director.

Various events are scheduled during the campaign. The European Week for Safety & Health at Work will take place in October 2018 and 2019. During the first quarter of 2019, the Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Exchange event will be organised and in November 2019, the campaign will be closed with the Healthy Workplaces Summit.

Our campaign pledge

Ceemet is committed to working with all stakeholders to highlight the need for simple and effective methods of managing dangerous substances at the workplace. Furthermore, through our membership, we intend to raise awareness of this issue at a national level and at a company level.

European tech & industry employers are committed to managing dangerous substances at the workplace, which is an integral part of companies' OSH strategies. We hope this campaign will go some way to further highlighting the need to manage these substances and assist European manufacturers in their aim to create healthier workplaces for their employees.” Uwe Combüchen, Ceemet Director General
