On 13 December 2016, the European Commission published its proposal for a revision of Regulation 883/2004 on the coordination of social security systems and Regulation 987/2009 laying down the procedure for implementing Regulation 883/2004.

Labour mobility is essential for the Metal, Engineering and Technology-based industries (MET) and is a strong asset of the Single Market. Therefore, Ceemet welcomes the European Commission’s proposal in general.

In this position paper, Ceemet focusses on labour mobility, and more in particular posting – or sending – of workers.
